Old Worthington, Northwest branches open homework help centers
All Worthington City Schools students who need a little help with homework may get it at the Worthington Libraries.
The Old Worthington and Northwest branches last week opened homework help centers, where students from kindergarten through high school can find assistance with many subjects.
Based on the successful homework help center at the Worthington Park branch, the two new centers provide trained volunteer and staff helpers, as well as computers, printers and other resources, for all students.
Hours are 4-7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
Both of the new help centers are separate rooms, built and outfitted just for students.
The construction was funded in part by community groups, including Worthington Industries, Dublin-Worthington Rotary, Worthington A.M. Rotary and Worthington Noon Lions. The Friends Foundation of the Worthington Libraries also gave $20,000 to kick off the donation drive.
On hand for the ribbon-cutting at the libraries last week were library staff members, representatives of community organizations and school board members.
