Linworth sets meeting for prospective students

Students interested in attending The Linworth Alternative Program of Worthington High Schools for the 2013 -2014 school year can apply for admission through March 22.

A general meeting for interested parents, students and community members will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 21, at the Linworth campus, 2075 W. Dublin-Granville Road.

The admission process includes a half-day visit to the school, a Linworth staff interview and an application.

Students may obtain an application through the Linworth campus or through the guidance office of any Worthington middle or high school.

Visits to the program and the interview should be coordinated through the student's current guidance counselor prior to the visit.

The alternative program is available to Worthington school students in grades 9 through 12 who are looking for a smaller school atmosphere of 180 students.

Students participating in the program have the opportunity to take more responsibility for their own learning with the goal of becoming self-directed and self-disciplined learners.
