Man arrested after trying to return stolen goods for cash

Worthington police arrested a 28-year-old man on Feb. 14 after he allegedly stole merchandise and returned it for cash at a business in the 900 block of High Street. At 3 p.m., officers formed a perimeter around the store after being alerted to the situation. The man had left the premises, but eventually was caught.

In other recent incident reports from the Worthington Division of Police:

* Someone entered an unlocked vehicle between 1 and 7 a.m. Feb. 12 in the 500 block of South Selby Boulevard. Change and a garage door opener were stolen.

* Police were called to Thomas Worthington High School, 300 W. Granville Road, on Feb. 12 regarding a report of a girl who brought a folding knife to school.

* Police discovered Feb. 18 that someone had spray-painted a city sign in the vicinity of Park Boulevard and Hardy Way.
