Night at the Races set at Beth Tikvah

Congregation Beth Tikvah will host its spring fundraiser at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the synagogue, 6121 Olentangy River Road.

Members of the congregation and the community are invited to attend the family-friendly fundraiser. Bets will be placed on video horse races, with half of the proceeds distributed to winners, and half to Beth Tikvah.

Guests will be able to watch 10 real horse races projected on a video screen. For $20 each, a horse can be "purchased" and named. Owners of winning horses will receive a prize; $2 wagers to "win" are available on all horses in each race.

General admission will provide appetizers, desserts and a cash bar. A sponsor raffle and a silent auction with prizes such as Florida condos, sports tickets, massages, rounds of golf and other activities will add to the fun.

Don't forget to dress to impress in your best Derby attire; judges will pick the best hat and award a prize.

Sponsorships are available for purchase in advance: $250 "Win" sponsorship entitles one to the ownership and naming rights to four horses, three sponsor-only raffle tickets and two drink tickets; $125 "Place" sponsorship allows for the ownership and naming rights to two horses, two sponsor-only raffle tickets and one drink ticket; $75 "Show" sponsors will receive ownership and naming rights to one horse, one sponsor-only raffle ticket and one drink ticket. All sponsorship prices are per person.

Adult general admission is $20 in advance and $25 at the door, $10 for teens ages 13-18 and $5 children ages 5-12. The advance purchase ticket deadline is Friday, April 26.
