Matthew Keller will be the new principal of Wilson Hill Elementary School.
"He will bring passion and energy and fun to Wilson Hill," said Assistant Superintendent Trent Bowers, who introduced the new principal to the Worthington Board of Education on May 6.
He currently is principal at Delaware City Schools' Laura Woodward Elementary School, a position he has held since 2011.
Previously, he was principal at that district's Willis Elementary School from 2008 to 2011 and was principal at two elementary schools in St. Marys City Schools and taught physical education in Marysville.
He has a master's degree in educational administration from the University of Cincinnati and a bachelor's degree in health and physical education from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
He will replace Cindi Montgomery, who resigned during her first year with the district. Jim McElligott is serving as interim principal.
Keller's salary will be $93,750, not including benefits.
The board also recognized eight teachers who recently completed requirements to be considered master teachers by the district. They are Amy Beckstedt, Thomas Worthington High School; Sandy Berner, Liberty Elementary School; Jamie Davis, Sutter Park Preschool; Nathan Davis, Kilbourne Middle School; Jennifer Keep, McCord Middle School; Kendra Prindle, Thomas Worthington High School; Lisa Rogers, Colonial Hills and Liberty elementary schools; and Kelly Wegley, Worthingway Middle School and Thomas Worthington High School.
