Downtown Luau set for June 8

The Grass Skirt and The Hills Market Downtown are pairing up to celebrate summer with a Downtown Luau from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at at 95 N. Grant Ave.

The Hills Market Downtown will provide fire-roasted Hawaiian pork sandwiches made by Slow Food Columbus from Athens, Ohio's Red Wattle hogs served alongside a tropical fruit salad while the Grass Skirt will provide signature tiki drinks, coconut sangria and PBR and Red Stripe for the thirsty.

Live music will be provided by Francis Lacuna (from noon to 2 p.m.), The Twits (4 to 6 p.m.) and members of Apocalypso (6 to 8 p.m.). Some ukelele action and even a sideshow performer or two also will be featured in the heart of the Discovery District.
