J. Gilbert's and Rivage Atlantique were each double winners in the People's Choice awards at the Taste of Worthington on July 19.
People's Choice is a friendly competition among the restaurants that participate in the annual food sampling event put on each year by the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce.
Twenty-four area restaurants took part in this year's festival, which was held in the parking lot at OfficeScape Corporate Center.
Each visitor is given a ballot and could vote on his or her favorite dishes in the appetizer, entree and dessert categories.
As in many recent years, J. Gilbert's Wood-Fired Steaks & Seafood placed first in the best-entree category with its filet mignon with mashed potatoes.
Second place went to Rivage Atlantique for its Gullah Shrimp Perlou.
Friendship Village of Columbus won third place for its bleu cheese burgers.
Shrimp ceviche and lobster salad rolls, both from Rivage, earned first place in the best-appetizer category.
Second place went to J. Liu Restaurant and Bar for its lettuce wraps. J. Gilbert's won third place with its shrimp Durango.
Winning most votes in the dessert category was the waffle cake topped with apples foster, candied pecans and whipped cream, made by the chefs at Willow Brook Christian Home.
Second place went to Graeter's for assorted ice cream flavors in big-scoop cups.
Mrs. Goodman's Baking Co. won third place for assorted baked goods.
