* If you don't already have an eReader, stop at Northwest Library from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, to compare all kinds, including kid-friendly tablets. If you already have a device, library staffers will show you how to download free books. Those attending should bring applicable passwords and cords to the Tech Petting Zoo.

* Northwest Library will host a LEGOs party for youth in grades 9-11 at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6.

* The library's First Day Jitters storytimes will get students excited about their first day of preschool or kindergarten. A program is planned for both preschoolers and kindergartners at Old Worthington Library on Tuesday, Aug. 6, and at Northwest Library on Wednesday, Aug. 7. Both start at 7 p.m.

* Speaking Volumes, an Old Worthington Library book discussion group, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7. New titles will be selected at this month's meeting.

* The library's English Conversation Group for new English language learners will meet at Old Worthington Library on Wednesdays throughout the summer. Class meetings are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. through Aug. 14. Library staff will help participants with basic English skills practice pronunciation and talking in English.
