Library notes

The following programs are offered by Worthington Libraries. Old Worthington Library is located at 820 High St., Northwest Library is located at 2280 Hard Road and Worthington Park Library is located at 1389 Worthington Centre Drive. Call 614-807-2626.

* Old Worthington Library and Worthington Park Library's homework help centers are open Mondays through Thursdays from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The Northwest Library center is open from 4 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. Each center has dedicated computers, courtesy printing of homework-related materials and library staff and volunteers to help students with school assignments.

* The next meeting of Worthington Libraries' Decanted book discussion group is planned for Tuesday, Sept. 3. Held at House Wine, 644 N. High St., the selected title is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. It will start at 7 p.m. Registration is required by calling 614-807-2626.

* Northwest Library will host a LEGOs party for children ages 9-11 at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3.

* The Dinner by Herman Koch will be the topic of the Wednesday, Sept. 4, meeting of Speaking Volumes, an evening book discussion group that meets at Old Worthington Library. A 7:30 p.m. start is scheduled.

* Teens can make locker decorations, such as magnets and note catchers, at Worthington Park Library's Rock Your Locker at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4.

* A Speed Friending networking event is planned for 20- to 30-year-olds at P.K. O'Ryan's Irish Pub, 666 High St., in downtown Worthington on Thursday, Sept. 5. Presented in partnership with Young Professionals of Worthington and Columbus Young Professionals, the program starts at 7 p.m.
