Thieves swipe $2,100 worth of train pistons

Thieves stole six train pistons valued at $350 each from a railway equipment company in the 500 block of East Granville Road at 5:30 a.m. Sept. 26.

Surveillance video showed men hoisting the 150-pound pistons over a concrete wall to a waiting vehicle.

Also on Sept. 26, a cast-iron settee was stolen from a deck in the 600 block of Greenwich Street.

On that day at 1:35 p.m., someone stole a notebook from a desk at Verizon, 5625 N. High St.

In other Worthington police incident reports:

* A woman shoplifted a cart of groceries valued at $326 from Kroger at the Shops at Worthington Place at 2:10 p.m. Sept. 27. She was issued a summons to appear in Mayor's Court.

* Sometime during the month of September, someone painted graffiti on concrete posts at a condominium complex in the 5900 block of North High Street.

* On Sept. 24, a resident in the 500 block of Park Boulevard was cited for a zoning violation for failure to remove rubbish from his property.
