Rabbi to speak about the future

Congregation Beth Tikvah will welcome Union for Reform Judaism president, Rabbi Rick Jacobs, at the annual Reform Community Shabbat service at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24.

Jacobs will discuss "Reform Judaism at a Crossroads: Looking to the Future."

Reform Community Shabbat, which also is sponsored by Temple Beth Shalom and Temple Israel, has been a staple of the Columbus Reform Judaism community for more than 10 years.

Guests are asked to bring a new toiletry item such as baby wipes, deodorant and travel shampoos for the Community Shelter Board in support of its new homeless shelter. Items will be collected before services.

Additional parking will be available at the Church of the Nazarene, 5707 Olentangy River Road.

A Bexley Beat shuttle will also be located at the church for pick-up and drop-off from 6:15 to 9:30 p.m.
