Anthony Gibbs, a teaching artist with the Ohio Historical Society, gives a presentation on the Tuskegee Airmen as part of an assembly for Black History Month at Thomas Worthington High School on Friday, Feb. 28.

According to TuskegeeAirmen.org, Tuskegee Airmen are the men and women, African-Americans and Caucasians, who were involved in the Tuskegee Experience, the Army Air Corps program to train African-Americans to fly and maintain combat aircraft.

The Tuskegee Airmen included pilots, navigators, bombardiers, maintenance and support staff, instructors and all of the personnel who kept the planes in the air.
