Capriccio's season concludes June 22

The 2013-14 Capriccio Columbus concert season comes to a close with a celebration of gospel choral music.

The program begins at 4 p.m. June 22 at New Hope Church, 4739 Powell Road. Admission is $15 for the general public, $12 for seniors and $5 for students. Tickets are available at capriccio columbus.org/tickets and at the door.

The 85-voice adult choir will be accompanied by a chamber orchestra as it performs composer John Rutter's Feel the Spirit, a cycle of seven spirituals, including When the Saints Go Marching In, Deep River and Ev'ry Time I Feel the Spirit.

Also featured will be Worthington Kilbourne High School graduate Josh Cook, who will solo on Adolphus Hailstork's arrangement of Go Down Moses. Other spirituals and gospel favorites will complete the program.

Led by Artistic Director Larry Griffin and Associate Director Karrie Horton, Capriccio Columbus is a semi-professional adult choir whose repertoire includes classical, contemporary, gospel, jazz and traditional standards.
