Ice cream and cookie dough -- what could be wrong with that combination?
Nothing, according to Tom Carter, owner of the Shops at Worthington Place, where Cookie Dough Creamery plans to open its first shop in the fall.
"I think we're going to be in for a real treat," Carter said.
Cookie Dough Creamery will sell just what its name implies -- real, soft-serve ice cream and cookie dough. Both will come in a variety of flavors.
Customers could eat the dough with the ice cream or by itself, or they could purchase a carton to take home and eat.
The dough is made without eggs and is pasteurized for safe eating.
The shop also will make and sell buckeyes made with cookie dough, unusual cheesecakes and brownies.
It will be between Pies & Pints and Road Runner, near the northeast entrance to the mall.
It will be owned and operated by a couple from Marysville who have an ice cream shop in that community, Carter said.
In other updates from the Shops, Aladdin's Eatery is under construction in the former Victoria's Secret store; the apartments next to the mall will be ready for occupancy in August; and another tenant at the Shops will be announced in the next few days, Carter said.
