Worthington Community Theater will present Hairspray for three consecutive weekends beginning July 18 at the McConnell Arts Center in Worthington.
Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. Sundays through Aug. 3.
The winner of eight Tony Awards, including best musical, Hairspray is a family-friendly musical filled with laughter, romance and songs.
The story centers around plus-size teen Tracy Turnblad, who has only one desire -- to dance on the popular Corny Collins Show.
When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star.
The WCT production will be directed by Patrick McGregor, with Jeremy Amweg as music director.
Taylor Waldron will star as Tracy Turnblad.
Other cast members will be Chris Ashton, Emily Boggs, Alicia Brown, Tiffany Chanel Brown, Erika Buford, Alec Clairmont, Brea Cristofoli, Patrick Foley, David Glover, Kathryn Gossman, Jessica Rose Gould, Shabonne Grimm, Cierra Guillis, Dani Hepp, Cathy Kleszczelski, Madeline Monroe, Hanna Osterwyk, Beth Potts, Ashley Robbe, Chris Rusen, Bryanna Rusnak, Mike Schram, Ashley Shuliger, Miles Storey, Cameron Stump, Scott Wilson and Elisabeth Zimmerman.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors.
