Library notes

The following programs are offered by Worthington libraries. Old Worthington Library is at 820 High St.; Northwest Library is at 2280 Hard Road; and Worthington Park Library is at 1389 Worthington Centre Drive. Call 614-807-2626.

* Make yourself a fashionable and casual beaded wrap bracelet at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 17, at Northwest Library and at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, at Old Worthington Library. The program is for teens and adults.

* On Thursday, July 17, Dr. Dave will use food to explore scientific concepts. Presented in partnership with Ohio State Universities Libraries and Sigma Xi-OSU chapter, the Whiz-Bang Science Show will start at 7 p.m. at Northwest Library.

* The Friends Foundation of Worthington Libraries will hold a book sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, July 18; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 19; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 20. Bestsellers, cookbooks, travel books, classics and more will be available starting at $1 each at Old Worthington Library. A pre-sale for Friends members is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 17; non-members can join at the sale.

* Northwest Library's outdoor concert series continues on Friday, July 18, with a performance by the Erik Augis Trio. The concert starts at 7 p.m.; in the event of rain, it will be held inside the library.

* "Under the Bridge" is the theme of the Saturday, July 19, session of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) Punks. Early literacy activities are planned for preschoolers from 10 a.m. to noon at Worthington Park Library.

* Children ages 9-11 will learn about the field of archaeology, and take part in a dig at Worthington Park Library on Monday, July 21. Dig It starts at 2:30 p.m.

* Parents and 6- to 8-year-olds will learn how to pick the right book, read together, practice writing and more during the Destination Read series. An around the world-themed program will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, at Old Worthington Library.

* A henna tattoo demonstration for teens is planned at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, at Worthington Park Library.

* The library's English Conversation Group for new English language learners will meet at Old Worthington Library on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. through Aug. 6. Library staff will help participants with basic English skills practice pronunciation and talking in English.

* Old Worthington Library's Thursday Morning Book Discussion Group will consider Dan Brown's Inferno at 10:30 a.m. July 24.
