The perennial crowd favorite -- filet mignon with mashed potatoes -- again won first place in the entree division at A Taste of Worthington.
The Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce event was Friday evening, July 18, drawing thousands of diners to the parking lot at Officescape, 350 W. Wilson Bridge Road.
Twenty-four area restaurants took part this year, offering small portions of some of their best appetizers, entrees and desserts. Dishes ranged in price from $1 to $7.
Each diner was given a ballot to vote for his or her favorite in each category.
The votes then were tallied, and the winners of the People's Choice Awards were announced at the end of the evening.
J. Gilbert's Wood-Fired Steaks and Seafood has won first place with its filet for several years in a row.
Second place in the entree category this year went to Friendship Village of Columbus for its crab-cake sliders with dill and remoulade sauces.
Seafood jambalaya from Rivage Atlantique placed third.
Rivage won first place in the appetizer category with its mini lobster rolls.
Second place went to Willow Brook Christian Home for its tamarind barbecued ribs with coconut key-lime corn.
J. Liu won third place with its Asian lettuce wraps.
Best dessert honors went to Graeter's for assorted ice cream flavors.
Second place went to Weiland's Catering for grilled peach cobbler kabob, with La Chatelaine French Bakery and Bistro placing third with macaroons and croissants.
