Historical society launches book group

The first meeting of the Worthington Historical Society's (WHS) new book group will focus on Black Diva of the Thirties: The Life of Ruby Elzy by local author David Weaver.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at La Chatelaine, 625 High St.

Weaver will attend the first meeting and discuss writing and researching his work. The book and a companion CD of rare recordings of Elzy are available in The Shop at the Old Rectory for $25 and $10 respectively.

On Tuesday, Oct. 28, the group will discuss Carnegie by Peter Krass.

All are welcome; WHS membership is not required.
