The Columbus Metropolitan Library and Panera Bread locations will be collecting new and gently used children's books and donations for Columbus City Schools' Books for Breakfast program until Aug. 30.

The books will be available for students to read if they participate in the school's free breakfast program. The goal is to make books available in more places than just the classroom.

The German Village Panera Bread, 684 S. High St., will have a special collection event from 7 a.m. to noon Aug. 31. Customers who drop off a children's book on that day will receive a coupon for a free breakfast entree at Panera Bread.
