Kilbourne, Thomas set for rematch

The Worthington Kilbourne High School boys basketball team will play host to Thomas Worthington on Saturday, Feb. 2.

The Cardinals beat the Wolves 53-42 on Dec. 1 at Thomas to take a 10-2 lead in the all-time series, as point guard Will Hill scored 14 points and guard Lance Leslie scored 10. For Kilbourne, wing player Tyler Stern-Tucker scored nine points, and guard Seth Hill and wing player Ryan Adolph each scored eight.

Thomas lost to Westland 62-57 on Jan. 26 to snap a three-game winning streak and drop to 11-4 overall and 5-4 in the OCC-Central Division before playing Dublin Coffman on Jan. 29.

Leslie scored 15 points and Will Hill scored 12 points.

On Jan. 22, the Cardinals defeated Dublin Jerome 57-47 as Leslie scored 16 points and Will Hill scored 12.

Kilbourne lost to Westerville Central 42-41 on Jan. 24 to drop to 6-10 overall and 2-7 in the OCC-Cardinal before playing Hilliard Darby on Jan. 29.

Stern-Tucker scored 19 points, including a layup for a 41-39 lead with 30 seconds remaining.

Seth Hill also scored 12 points, but Central guard Charles Carmon made what held up as the winning 3-pointer with 19 seconds left, after the Wolves missed two shots in the final 10 seconds.

On Jan. 22, Kilbourne defeated Franklin Heights 45-39 as Seth Hill scored 11 points and Adolph scored nine.
