Wolves bowling teams end seasons

The Worthington Kilbourne High School boys bowling team finished 10th of 30 teams in the sectional tournament Feb. 16 at Columbus Western Bowl, falling just short of advancing to district.

The top nine teams and the top nine individuals not on a qualifying team advanced to the district tournament Friday, Feb. 22, at HP Lanes.

The Wolves totaled 3,420 pins, finishing 18 pins behind ninth-place Hilliard Davidson (3,438). Newark (4,030) won the sectional title.

Junior Alex Mramor led Kilbourne, rolling a 534 series to tie Olentangy's Brandon Bice for 28th of 166 competitors. Gilead Christian's Sammy Stiffler was the final individual district qualifier with a 545.

Senior Tessa Epifanio (331), sophomore A.J. Lent (329), senior Michael Johnson (316), junior Josh Toulmin (289) all rolled two games for the Wolves and sophomore Yuki Ono (152) rolled one game.

The Kilbourne girls team finished 18th (2,271) in the 25-team sectional Feb. 15 at Columbus Western Bowl.

Briggs (3,757) won the sectional title and Reynoldsburg (2,646) secured the final qualifying spot for district Saturday, Feb. 23, at HP Lanes.

Sophomore Joy Sun rolled a 426 series to lead the Wolves, finishing 36th of 161 competitors. Also competing were sophomore Minori Mae (391), junior Lynn Tong (315), sophomore Haley Wilber (275) and freshman Olivia Brady (255).

Briggs' Jordyn Estep (651) won the sectional title and DeSales' Miranda Singer (454) was the final individual district qualifier.

Cardinals fall short of district tourney

The Thomas boys team finished 19th (3,225) in the sectional at Columbus Western Bowl.

Sophomore Johnny Knox rolled a 511 series to lead the Cardinals, tying for 42nd.

Also competing were sophomore Nate Boggs (466, 74th) and seniors Charlie Roach (429), Nate Ensminger (414) and Hayden Plummer (412).

The Cardinals do not have a girls team.
