Kilbourne tops Mount Vernon to end two-game skid

The Worthington Kilbourne High School boys basketball team won at Mount Vernon 48-32 in an OCC-Capital Division game Jan. 24 to snap a two-game losing streak.

Michael Chambers scored 12 points and Seth Hill added 11 as the Wolves improved to 10-7 overall and 6-3 in the OCC-Capital.

Kilbourne plays host Friday, Jan. 31, to Franklin Heights and travels Tuesday, Feb. 4, to Olentangy in league rematches.

The Wolves lost at Franklin Heights 52-50 on Dec. 20, as John Tinker had 16 points and Akeian Frederick had 15 for the Falcons and Connor Silva scored 11 for Kilbourne.

Kilbourne beat Olentangy 70-61 on Jan. 3, as Hill scored 22 points, Chambers had 17 points and 14 rebounds and J.C. Bartok had 16 points and 11 rebounds. Jimmy Gundling had 22 points for the Braves.

Kilbourne's home league game Jan. 28 against Big Walnut was postponed because of bad weather and rescheduled for Feb. 11.

Cardinals earn league win over Cougars

Thomas defeated Westland 51-43 in an OCC-Central game Jan. 24, as Isaiah Boyd scored 13 points, Daniel Crease had 11 and Alex Baughman added 10.

Three days earlier, the Cardinals lost a league game to Upper Arlington 57-39. Crease scored 14 points and Jaret Gerber had 10.

The Cardinals are 10-6 overall and 5-4 in the OCC-Central. Their league game Jan. 28 at Dublin Coffman was postponed because of bad weather and rescheduled for Feb. 8.

Thomas plays Friday, Jan. 31, at Marysville and plays host Tuesday, Feb. 4, to Central Crossing in league rematches.

The Cardinals defeated Marysville 67-57 on Dec. 20, as Gerber scored 17 points, Baughman had 14 and Yemi Sholesi added 12. Logan Roston scored 15 for the Monarchs.

Thomas beat Central Crossing 53-44 on Jan. 3, as Tyrrell Stewart scored 12 points and Gerber and Baughman each had 10.
