Senior runners Ashley Forte and Ariel Rittenhouse of Thomas Worthington High School made their college selections official Feb. 5.
Forte selected Princeton University to compete in track. She qualified for the Division I state meet last spring in the 800 meters, but did not participate because of a foreign-exchange trip to France. Forte finished fourth at regional in the 800 in 2 minutes, 13.56 seconds, a time that would have been good for eighth at state.
Rittenhouse selected Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa., for both cross country and track. Last fall, she finished 92nd (19:57.17) in the Division I state meet as the Cardinals finished 13th (292) behind champion Mason (76). Last spring in track, she competed on the 3,200 relay that finished 11th (10:19.67) at regional.
