Wolves, Cards girls set to renew rivalry


The Worthington Kilbourne High School girls lacrosse team will play host to Thomas Worthington on Wednesday, April 30.

The Wolves, who defeated Thomas 15-4 last year, lost to Upper Arlington 12-10 on April 15 but rebounded to beat Marysville 21-3 on April 17 to improve to 7-3 overall and 3-0 in the OCC-Cardinal Division.

Grace Cameron, Kara Hines and Allison Martz each scored three goals and Miriam Bassani, Maggie Baumgardner, Maya Happ and Riley Spencer each scored two against Marysville.

The Cardinals were 10-1 overall before playing Dublin Jerome on April 21.

Thomas defeated Hilliard Davidson 18-8 on April 18 to improve to 2-1 in the OCC-Central.

Mallary Weinsz had a team-high five goals against the Wildcats. Liza Carey had four goals, Zoe Collaros scored three, Jasmin Singh scored two and goalkeeper Kelli Hill had 11 saves.

Wolves boys roll to win over Cardinals

The Kilboune boys team routed Thomas 17-6 in an OCC-Buckeye game April 17 to stay unbeaten.

The Wolves were 9-0 overall and 3-0 in the league before playing UA on April 23.

Josh Happ had five goals to lead the way against the Cardinals.

Tyler Roe added four goals, Jared Happ scored three and goalie Mike Turnbull had 10 saves.

Justin May had three goals, Michael Hilliard scored two and goalie Sam MacKenzie had 13 saves to lead the Cardinals, who were 1-7 overall and 0-3 in the OCC-Buckeye before playing Olentangy Liberty on April 23.
