Sean Luzader will be hired as head coach of the Thomas Worthington High School boys basketball team pending board approval in July.
“I’m definitely excited about this opportunity because I’m a Cardinal and I couldn’t even imagine coaching anywhere else at this point in my career,” Luzader said. “My focus is to try to respect the history and rich tradition of Thomas Worthington basketball, yet make it my own program by bringing in fresh new ideas.”
Luzader, 42, is taking over the program after serving as Bob Miller’s assistant coach at Thomas for 13 seasons. Luzader also earned a 54-53 record in five seasons as Mount Gilead's head coach from 2001 through 2006.
Miller, 73, retired from coaching on April 10, after earning a 423-269 record in his 31 seasons as the Cardinals’ coach.
In 41 seasons as a head coach at Thomas and Groveport, Miller earned a 573-323 overall record.
