Former South-Western employee gets Christmas jail time as part of sentence for theft

A former South-Western schools employee was placed on probation for five years yesterday and must spend her Christmas holiday in jail for stealing nearly $40,000 from the district. Trixie Belew, 43, of O’Shannon Road on the Northwest Side, pleaded guilty in July in Franklin County Common Pleas Court to one count each of theft in office and forgery.

New band directors take up batons

Grove City and Central Crossing high schools have new band directors this year, but neither are entirely new to their schools.
