Each week, staff selects the Player of the Week.

Below are the players of the week for the 2012 season.

Super 25 Captain: Ja'Wuan Woodley of Hartley Woodley is a University of Toledo recruit who was the district’s Offensive Player of the Year and the Super 25 captain. He rushed for 1,902 yards and 26 touchdowns on offense and was among the key players at linebacker a year after he was named a state Defensive Player of the Year.

Week 10: Gus Ackley ran for 205 yards and two touchdowns on 33 carries, including an 80-yard touchdown run on the first play of the second half helping Upper Arlington upset Dublin Coffman 23-14.

Week 9: Miles McCollum of Dublin Coffman had four sacks, including one on 4th-and-9 from the Coffman 19 late in the game to preserve a 36-28 victory over Olentangy Liberty.

Week 8: Westerville South quarterback Nick Renzetti was 17 of 32 for 412 yards with six touchdowns in 50-28 win over Westerville Central on Oct. 12.

Week 7: Hilliard Davidson running back E.J. Jennings rushed for 316 yards on 35 carries and six touchdowns in a 42-14 victory over Upper Arlington.

Week 6: Tim Shadoan had nine receptions for 146 yards and seven carries for 35 yards and scored five touchdowns (three on runs and two on receptions). His 4-yard touchdown run with 3:50 left after South turned the ball over on downs gave Scioto a 42-28 lead and proved to be the difference.

Week 5: Northridge's Jacob Burke rushed for 289 yards and four touchdowns on 36 carries in a 33-26 win at Utica on Sept 21. The victory ended a 23-game league losing streak for Northridge.

Week 4: Pickerington Central senior defensive back Nygel Hariston had two interceptions and a fumble recovery as the Tigers beat Lancaster 14-10 on Sept. 14.

Week 3: New Albany senior running back Alan Watson rushed for 193 yards and four touchdowns on 10 carries and returned the opening kickoff 93 yards for a score as the Eagles defeated host DeSales 56-22 on Sept. 7. Watson scored on runs of 25, 9, 18 and 77 yards.

Week 2: Westerville Central quarterback Jared Drake rushed 24 times for 202 yards and a touchdown and was 17-for-33 passing for 128 yards and two touchdowns, including the winner in overtime, as the Warhawks beat New Albany 23-20 in overtime on Aug. 31.

Week 1: Olentangy Liberty quarterback Joey Longhino, who threw for 298 yards and rushed for 79 more, accounting for four touchdowns while rallying the Patriots to a 43-21 win over host Olentangy Orange on Aug. 24.
