Gunmakers, artists together for show
Gunmakers from the Ohio Valley will be showcased at an event from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Campus Martius Museum in Marietta.
The Contemporary Gunmakers and Allied Artists Show also will feature horn and hunting-bag makers, leather workers, tinsmiths, cabinet makers and other artisans who work in the manner of the 18th and 19th centuries.
The cattle-horn scrimshaw art of Ohioan Matt Blosser will be featured. Blosser will demonstrate his craft and answer questions throughout the day.

'40s dollhouse in miniatures exhibit
The Shaker Historical Museum in Shaker Heights is showing an elaborate, fully furnished 1940s dollhouse recently acquired from a local resident.
Also on display in the Miniature Worlds exhibit are rarely seen miniature Shaker rooms and a toy train from the museum's permanent collection.
The miniatures exhibit will run through Feb. 20.

Groundhog Day early at Cleveland museum
The Cleveland Museum of Natural History and Thistle the Whistlepig will get a jump on Groundhog Day with a program beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Thistle, the museum's resident groundhog, will appear (and might or might not predict the coming of spring) at the Groundhog Fun Day. The event also will include family-friendly crafts and information on the facts and fancy surrounding springtime's legendary rodent.
