VINTAGE TRUCK JAMBOREE Over 300 trucks were registered in 2017's Ohio Vintage Truck Jamboree, and this year's 7th annual event is expected to draw at least that many vehicles. Along with the vintage truck show, check out the one-of-a-kind trucking memorabilia display, truck parts swap meet, "Country Convoy" dinner cruise, truck light display, model truck building contest, classic trucking music and more at this family-friendly tradition from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday at the Ashland County Fairgrounds.
PROM-IN-IT Dance the night away at the first-ever Prom-In-It Ladies Night on Saturday from 7-11 p.m. at the pavilion at Ashland Golf Club. Tickets are $35 each and the night will include light appetizers, a cash bar and photo booth. Proceeds will benefit Rape Crisis and Domestic Violence Safe Haven of Ashland. Participants can receive awards, such as best dressed, oldest dress and even prom queen. ASHLAND YOUNG PROFESSIONALS All young professionals, with or without families, are invited to this Ashland Young Professionals Family Picnic at Brookside West at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Come out for some cornhole, Frisbee, kickball and eat a burger or hot dog. Turk Brothers Custom Meats Inc. and Heffelfinger Meats are sponsoring this event to provide top quality meat.
BUS TRIP TO BOWLING GREEN Tour the Wood County Historical Center and Museum when the Ashland County Homemakers offers its bus trip to Bowling Green on Wednesday. The trip will also include excursions to Snook's Dream Car, a Wind Farm and Simpson Garden Park. There also will be time for shopping, and the trip will end with a visit to Sundae Station for ice cream. The bus will depart at 7:30 a.m. from the back parking lot of Buehler's Fresh Foods, with a boarding time of 7 a.m. The cost is $55, which includes lunch at "SamB's" Restaurant. Checks for reservations should be made out to Ashland County Homemakers and sent to Pat Shenberger, 834 Ashland County Road 30A, Ashland. The bus will return to Ashland around 6:30 p.m.
MO100 For the the runners, the Mohican Trail 100 Mile Run starts at 5 a.m. Saturday at 3058 State Route 3 in Loudonville and ends Sunday. For 25 years, this race, often referred to as the MO100, has become one of the nation’s premier ultra-marathons. Home of the first ever USATF Ultra Running Championship in 2005, Mohican is reportedly the fifth oldest ultra-running race in the country. Traverse 95 percent trail along a challenging course winding its way through the 5,000 acre Mohican Memorial State Forest. Along with the 100, The Mohican 50-Mile and Marathon distances have become increasingly popular.
