The Rev. Robert F. O'Toole, a member of the faculty at the Pontifical Biblical Institute and
president of the Gregorian University Foundation in Rome, delivered the annual Borromean Lecture at
St. Charles Preparatory School on Oct. 13.
O'Toole addressed students and faculty along with business, civic, school and church officials. He spoke about morals and ethics in society, business and government, noting there is a general deterioration of civility in society and people making excuses for behaving uncivilly, including the recession and high unemployment figures. But, he reminded the audience that the purest example of human interaction can be found in the Bible. The Borromean Lecture was established in 2000 to honor St. Charles Borromeo, the school's patron saint. The lecture series established a forum to annually attract a nationally renown speaker to St. Charles. Story toolsToday’s Top Stories
