Knox named to ESPN The Magazine All-District IV first team

Otterbein junior Jenny Knox, a Gahanna native and Hartley graduate, was named to the ESPN The Magazine All-District IV first team in women's soccer. Knox is a three-year starter at defender, and she scored five goals and had two assists this season. Knox is an allied-health major and has made the Dean's List all six quarters.

The Ohio Wesleyan softball team will hold a hitting and bunting clinic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday for girls grades 5-12. For more information or a registration form visit bishops.owu.edu or call coach Cassie Cunningham at (740) 368-3737.

Sports 101 is offering a youth basketball league in Pickerington, Grove City, Lewis Center and the Blacklick/Reynoldsburg area for boys and girls ages 3-17. The eight-week season will run from Jan. 9 through March 7. All players will receive a reversible jersey, matching shorts and ticket to the Cleveland Cavaliers-New York Knicks game on Feb. 6 in Cleveland. Margaret Hofmann, a Columbus resident, has created www.femaleathletesfirst.com, a Web site designed to serve the female athlete exclusively by providing functional strength and conditioning programs, online coaching and relevant health and wellness information.

There are articles, handouts and resources on just about every topic relating to women's needs as athletes.
