John Whitney of Grove City has entered two films he directed in a Time Warner Cable Viewers Choice contest.

For the first year ever, Time Warner is holding an Indie Shorts Viewers Choice contest.

Whitney entered two of his already award-winning shorts - "Measured Sacrifice" and "Fixer."

Time Warner customers can view entries for the contest by watching channel 411. The most watched short film by Nov. 30 will win.

The director who enters the winning film will win $500. Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Whitney moved to central Ohio in 1987 to study film at the Ohio State University.
