Twisters to host customer appreciation day Twisters Cones and Coney's, 551 W. Coshocton St., is hosting a one-day customer appreciation day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28. During the special event, everything on the menu will be half off. The event is to thank customers for another great year, said Ron Dennis, owner.
Santa Paws fundraiser slated Julia's Team Kids Conquering Cancer for Johnstown's Relay for Life will host a Santa Paws fundraiser at Belt Park from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 28 and 29. In addition to pets having their photos taken with Santa at the Belt Park Barn, some Licking
County vendors will be available with handmade Christmas ornaments, two large raffle baskets, Jerky
treats from Route 62 BBQ and ribbon gourmet dog biscuits from Bow Wow Bakery.
Soup sale slated
Members of Johnstown's Faith Fellowship Church will be stirring up a variety of homemade soups from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29, at the Youth For Christ building (formerly the Church of Ascension) in Johnstown. Guests may stop in during these hours for soup and dessert. At least a dozen different kinds of all-you-can-eat soup will be available for a donation. The soup dinner will benefit the Re@lity Youth Ministry Outreach group, a group of kids in
sixth- through 12th-graders from the Johnstown-Monroe, Northridge and Big Walnut schools.
Toys for Tots donations needed
Johnstown's American Legion Post 254 asks the community's help in collecting toys for tots for the needy children of the Johnstown and Northridge school districts. Collection boxes are available at: Bishop Scovell, Hot Spot, Lash Chevrolet, Heartland Bank of Johnstown, Kroger, Park National Bank, Johnstown Recreation Center, Johnstown Village Offices, Coughlin Ford, the fire houses in Johnstown and Croton, Johnstown Animal Hospital, Kroger, Johnstown's Babcock Library, Alexandria Library, Johnstown-Monroe High School, Tech Rubber, Chimes Terrace, Southern Baptist Church, New Look, the Dollar Store and Dollar General in Johnstown. The legion welcomes phone calls to donate toys or cash contributions. The distribution of toys will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, at the Johnstown Community Center on Maple Street. Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. to get the ages and number of children. For more information, call Bruce Tolle at 740-405-3841.
Croton Garden Club workshop
Croton Garden Club members will hold a workshop Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 1-2, to make grave blankets and swags to sell. The workshop begins at 9 a.m. and will be held at Croton Town Hall. Orders may be placed by calling Alice Thacker at 893-4848. The Croton Church of Christ will sponsor a Christmas Cookie, Goody and Craft Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5.
