• The city of Heath will begin leaf pick-up on Monday, Nov. 23.

Leaves must be in bags at the curb by 7 a.m. on the morning of Nov. 23.

Residents are asked to keep bags to 35 pounds or less and free of sticks and trash. If leaves are not in bags they will not be taken by the Heath Street Department.

• Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats will perform at the Midland Theatre in Newark at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15.

The performance is part of the Midland Theatre's Family Series.

• Nine Denison University music ensembles will perform at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, in Burke Recital Hall, 240 W. Broadway.

Performing will be the Trumpet Ensemble, directed by Mark Wade; the Brass Ensemble, directed by Jed Hudson; the Woodwind Quintet, directed by Steve Rosenberg; the Woodwind Quartet, directed by Leslie Maaser; the Clarinet Ensemble, directed by Robert Jones; the Bassoon Quartet, directed by Cynthia Cioffari; the Oboe Ensemble, directed by Rosenberg; the Flute Choir, directed by Maaser; and the String Ensemble, directed by Debbie Price.

The program will feature movements from Vivaldi's "Concerto Grosso in B-flat major," Haydn's "Divertimento No. 1 in B-flat major," and Arthur Sullivan's "Overture to 'the Pirates of Penzance.'"

• Denison University's Bluegrass Ensemble, directed by Andy Carlson and Casey Cook, will perform at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, in Swasey Chapel, 200 Chapel Drive.

• The Department of Theatre at the Ohio State University in Newark will present its autumn production, "Painting Churches," on Nov. 12, 13 and 14 and Nov. 19, 20 and 21.

Each performance begins at 8 p.m. in LeFevre Hall's Black Box Theatre. Tickets are $4 for the general public and $3 for students.

Dave Williams, associate professor of theater at OSU-N, directs the play, which was written by Tina Howe.

• The contemporary instrumental jazz group known as The Rippingtons will perform at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13 at The Midland Theatre, 36 N. Park Place in Newark.

Led by composer-producer-guitarist Russ Freeman, the ensemble plays what the Midland calls "a sophisticated, elegant sound that soothes the soul."
