Six seek two school board seats

Six candidates are running for the two expiring seats on the Olentangy Local School District Board
of Education.
One is seeking re-election. Another has thrown his hat into the political arena before, and four are seeking public office for the first time. Julie Feasel, 42, of Holderman Street, Lewis Center, has been a resident of the Olentangy school district since 1997. She received a bachelor's in mass communications with minors in business, American history and sociology from Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame. She is vice president of communications for the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, a pro-business advocacy group that lobbies on behalf of Ohio's businesses. In 2006, she was appointed to a vacant seat on the Olentangy school board, and in 2007 ran unopposed to fulfill the rest of that term. She is seeking re-election to that seat. Patrick Grubbe, 44, of Woodstone Drive, Lewis Center, has been a resident of the Olentangy school district for nine years. He holds a bachelor's degree in communications from the Ohio State University. He is president of AVSG, Inc., an audio/visual staging and production company that produces corporate and association meetings worldwide. He ran unsuccessfully for Orange Township Trustee in 2001. Dave King, 62, of Lakeview Drive, Powell, has been a resident in the Olentangy school district since 1986. He holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from Ohio University. He is co-found and partner of Horne & King Architects. This is his first time seeking public office. Mitch Kon, 51, of Cardinal Hill Lane, Powell, has been a resident of the Olentangy school district for 13 years. He holds a bachelor's degree in business from Franklin & Marshall College, in Lancaster, Penn. He is a retired marketing executive. This is his first time seeking public office. Lynne Schoenling, 47, of Ridgewood Avenue, has been a resident in the Olentangy school district since 1999. She holds a bachelor's degree in English literature from the University of Cincinnati and a law degree from the University of Cincinnati. She has a private law practice. This is her first time seeking public office. Jay Siefring, 35, of Hunters Bend, Powell, has been a resident of the Olentangy school district since 2006. He holds a bachelor's degree in management information systems from Wright State University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Dayton.
