• The University of Cincinnati has announced its dean's list for summer quarter 2009 at the University of Cincinnati.

Pickerington residents named to the list were Michael Delmatto, Allison Dunphy, Patrick Heine, Philip Knapp, Ryan Mahoney and Jessica Reeb.

• Pickerington residents Cynthia Hooper and Mary Lee have finished cadet week training with the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets, the university's longest tradition of leadership development.

First-year members of the corps begin the year with New Cadet Week, held the week prior to the start of classes. Students undergo a series of challenges that build character and leadership skills. The corps holds members to the highest standards of loyalty, honor, integrity and self-discipline.

Hooper is a freshman majoring in biology and Lee is a freshman majoring in general engineering.
