MORPC extends survey deadline
Monday, February 8, 2010 5:45 PM
Residents in Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Knox, Licking, Madison, Marion, Morrow,
Pickaway, Ross and Union counties now have until Feb. 21 to complete a survey to help plan for
central Ohio's future.
The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission hopes 10,000 local residents participate in the "Shaping Our Future: the Regional Plan for Central Ohio" survey. Thus far, only about 6,000 residents -- 3,884 from Franklin County -- have submitted responses to the survey, which is online at http://regionalplan.morpc.org. "We had a great response from the community regarding MORPC's regional planning efforts, but we still need to hear from more residents," Nancy Reger, MORPC deputy director of transportation, said in a press release. "We want to make sure everybody's voice is heard, not just the usual suspects who are urban planner junkies. We want to make sure the goals developed from this outreach truly reflect the wishes for the people of central Ohio." The results of the survey are scheduled for adoption in the spring of 2012.
