DATA Bus to expand hours in December
Saturday, November 28, 2009 3:36 PM
DATA Bus, Delaware County's public transit system, has announced it will offer a pilot project for expanded service hours during the first three weeks of December. The expanded service hours will be Fridays until 10 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. As with DATA Bus' current service, the expanded hours are open and available to anyone in Delaware County. The expanded service is for demand response transportation, which requires advance scheduling and is based on vehicle availability. The cost is the same for DATA Bus' regular service, which is no more than $2 each way to travel anywhere in the county. To schedule a ride, call (740) 363-3355 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Reservations can be made up to a week in advance, but at least by noon the day before the scheduled trip. From Nov. 30 until Dec. 12, donations of mittens, hats, and personal hygiene products will be accepted in place of regular fares. These items will be donated to People In Need.
