The 1st Thursday Book Group will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3 to discuss "The Thanksgiving Visitor," a memoir by Truman Capote. Attendees are encouraged to bring to the meeting any book they have particularly enjoyed reading.

Members of the Buckeye Rug Hooking Guild will be in the library's meeting room from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, to share their knowledge and enjoyment of this American folk art. The public is invited to visit and ask questions.

Holiday story time and visit from Santa Claus, 7 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 9. Registration required. Bring your camera. Free. To register, call the library's Children's Department.

Winter I session of dance classes with Amanda Schlaegel of Active with Arts will be held on the following Saturdays: Dec. 12 and 19 and Jan. 9, 16 and 30. Preschoolers and kindergartners, 3:30 to 4 p.m. Beginner ballet and tap; some tumbling. First- and second-graders, 2 to 2:45 p.m., basic ballet and tap; some jazz dance. Third- through fifth-graders, 2:45 to 3:30 p.m., basic ballet, tap; some jazz dance. Cost for the five-week session is $25. Ballet and tap shoes preferred but not necessary. Space is limited and registration is required.

Babytime, for children ages birth to 23 months, 9:30 a.m. on Mondays. Infants and toddlers with an adult will take part in a program of songs, rhymes and books.

• Time for Twos, for 2-year-olds, 9:45 a.m. on Tuesdays. Children accompanied by an adult will enjoy books, songs, fingerplays and other activities.

Wiggles and Giggles, for 3-year-olds, 9:45-10:15 a.m. on Thursdays. Preschoolers will be entertained by songs, games, crafts and age-appropriate books that emphasize early learning concepts.

Laugh and Learn, for ages 4-6, 10:30-11 a.m. on Thursdays. Children will share books that emphasize concepts such as phonics, math, science and critical thinking skills.
