Resident joins CSHC Katherine Sechkar of Worthington has joined the Columbus Speech and Hearing Center as a speech language pathologist. She is responsible for speech and language treatment and evaluation. Sechkar is an alumna of Ohio University, where she received her bachelor's degree in hearing,
speech and language sciences and her master's degree in speech language pathology.
Resident named Optometrist of the Year
Dr. Karla Zadnik of Worthington is the 2009 Ohio Optometrist of the Year. The award was presented Oct. 3 at the meeting of the Ohio Optometric Association in Cleveland. She serves as associate dean at the Ohio State University College of Optometry, where she is also the Glenn A. Fry professor of optometry and physiological optics. Zadnik conducts patient-based vision research and has received continuous federal funding from the National Institutes of Health since 1991. Zadnik is chairman of the university's Biomedical Sciences Institutional Review Board and the IRB Policy Committee.
