A natural gas-line leak near Scioto Darby and Leppert roads that closed the intersection earlier today has been contained, according to the Hilliard Division of Police.

The intersection has reopened to traffic, the police division said in a tweet.

At one point this afternoon, repairs were expected to take four hours, according to Norwich Township fire Chief Jeff Warren.

Warren said the situation was not serious, though the repairs would be complicated.

Hilliard City Schools officials sent an email to parents saying all students and staff members were safe. Darby High School is to the immediate north of the intersection, and Heritage Middle School is to the east.

The district's email said dismissal might be slower than normal, and motorists driving through the area or picking up children should be prepared for delays and road closures.
