Following are Columbus and Franklin County Metropolitan Park District programs for March 23-30.

Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park

1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway

Bison, 1 p.m. March 25 at the nature center. Guests will take a 1-mile hike to see North America's largest land mammal.

Metro Five-0: Level 2 Woodcock Walk, 7:30 p.m. March 26 at the nature center. Ages 50 and older will search for the American woodcock performing aerial courtship dances.

Blacklick Woods Metro Park

6975 E. Livingston Ave., Reynoldsburg

Coyote Campfire, 7 p.m. March 24 at the Beech Maple Lodge. S'mores and stories about coyotes will be featured around the campfire.

Swamp Life Display, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 25 and 26 at the nature center. Guests will view a swamp display and the animals that call it home.

Metro Five-0: Level 1 Gardening for Wildlife, 2 p.m. March 26 at the nature center. Ages 50 and older will learn how to lure wildlife into their backyards.

Story Time, 10 a.m. March 28 at the nature center. Ages 3-8 will enjoy a story about animals and create a simple nature craft.

Blendon Woods Metro Park

4265 E. Dublin Granville Road, Westerville

Spring Break Scavenger Hunt and Craft, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 24 and 29-31 at the nature center. Guests will try a scavenger hunt and make an easy nature craft, as well as look at displays of live animals and watch birds at the windows.

Spring, 10 a.m. March 25 at the nature center. Guests will explore the woods and meadows for early signs of spring on a 2-mile walk.

Dam It, 1 p.m. March 25 at the nature center. Guests will look for beaver signs at Thoreau Lake on a 1-mile off-trail walk.

Metro Five-0: Level 3 Weed Walk, 1 p.m. March 28 at the nature center. Ages 50 and older will take a 2-mile walk and learn about the better qualities of common weeds to celebrate National Weed Appreciation Day.

Glacier Ridge Metro Park

9801 Hyland Croy Road, Plain City

Woodcock Watch, 7:45 p.m. March 25 at the Picnic Shelter. Guests will scan the fields for woodcock's aerial dance on a 1-mile hike.

For Kids: Wildlife Hike, 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. March 28 at the Picnic Shelter. Ages 3-10 will take a 1-mile hike and search for animals getting ready for spring.

Highbanks Metro Park

9466 U.S. Route 23 N., Lewis Center

Friday Feeding, 1 p.m. March 24 at the nature center. Guests will watch the naturalist feed the reptiles and amphibians and learn what it takes to care for the animals.

Ravine Hike, 1 p.m. March 25 at the nature center. Guests will explore the ravine on a 3-mile off-trail hike.

The Brown Fruit Farm, 2 p.m. March 26 at the nature center. Adults will join T.K. Cellar and learn about the history of the Brown Fruit Farm, which stood on land that is now part of Highbanks.

Homestead

4675 Cosgray Road, Hilliard

For Kids: Nature Crafts, 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. March 24 at Lakeside Pavilion. Ages 3-10 will create easy nature crafts featuring supplies found in nature.

Rocky Fork Metro Park

7180 Walnut St., Westerville

Coyotes, 7 p.m. March 26 at the Milestone Picnic Area Bulletin Board. Guests will take a 2-mile walk to look and listen for coyotes.

International Take a Walk in a Park Day, 6:30 p.m. March 30 at the Millstone Picnic Area Bulletin Board. Guests will take a 1.5-mile hike to celebrate National Take a Walk in the Park Day.

Scioto Audubon Metro Park

400 W. Whittier St., Columbus

Pre-K Storytime, 10 a.m. Thursdays and Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Bring your little ones for a nature-inspired story or two.

Birdwatching for Beginners, 10 a.m. Saturdays at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center. Guests will learn how to use binoculars to search for birds.

Sharon Woods Metro Park

6911 Cleveland Ave., Westerville

Bogsucker Ballyhoo, 7:30 p.m. March 24 at Apple Ridge Bulletin Board. Guests will take a short hike to listen for and watch the aerial display of the American woodcock.

Amphibian Bonanza, 2 p.m. March 25 at Schrock Lake Restrooms. Guests will enjoy a 2-mile off-trail adventure to look for frogs, toads and salamanders.

Go Wild! Kids Club, 4:30 p.m. March 30 at the Spring Hollow Lodge. Ages 5-12 will explore a hidden wonder of spring on an off-trail hike to the vernal pools.

Three Creeks Park

3860 Bixby Road, Groveport

Eagle Watch Saturday, 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. March 25 in the Madison Christian Church parking lot, 3565 Bixby Road, Groveport. Guests will wander through field and forest on a 1-mile off-trail walk to see bald eagles through a spotted scope.

Preschoolers: Hop Into Spring, 10 a.m. March 28 at Heritage Nature Center, 551 Wirt Road, Groveport. Guests will discover frogs, toads and salamanders through stories, activities and a short walk to the pond.
