Nationwide Children’s Hospital has closed its Dublin urgent-care center, citing a shortage of urgent-care physicians nationwide.

The one at the Dublin Close to Home Center, 7450 Hospital Drive, Suite 100, is closed for three to five months.

Danielle Warner, senior specialist in media relations with Nationwide, said the physician shortage has made staffing urgent-care centers challenging.

“While we work to meet our full recruitment needs for pediatric urgent-care-trained physicians, we will be temporarily closing our Dublin urgent-care center, effective today,” she said.

Nationwide decided to close the Hospital Drive center because other urgent-care locations are nearby, Warner said.

“Rather than move urgent-care physicians from our other urgent-care centers and create additional challenges, temporarily closing the Dublin site will allow for patients in that community to continue to access urgent-care services at our two closest urgent-care centers in Hilliard and Marysville,” she said.

Urgent-care services also are available in Canal Winchester, east Columbus and Westerville, along with Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s downtown Columbus campus.

Two other Dublin Close to Home Centers, on Perimeter and Venture drives, aren’t urgent-care centers.
