Jonathan Langhals, assistant superintendent of Marysville Exempted Village School District, recently was named Public Health Partner of the Year by the Union County Health Department.
The award is given to an individual or agency that has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to improving health within Union County.
Langhals has worked with the Union County Health Department for the past three years and is a described as a strong ally in efforts to discourage tobacco use on school campuses and in making Marysville a safer place for youth to bike and walk to school.
Langhals also is considered a key player in the health department’s efforts to identify community needs and create strategies to meet those needs.
Langhals is an active member of the Community Health Improvement Plan Committee, the Union County Drug Free Coalition and the Marysville Safe Routes to School Committee and is working with the Union County Health Department’s Creating Healthy Communities program.
