Memorial Health specialist receives Award of Fellow
Orthopedics and sports-medicine specialist Timothy Lynch recently received the Award of Fellow from the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics in recognition of volunteer activities and service to advance osteopathic orthopedic medicine and surgery.
Recipients of the award have demonstrated commitment to surgical practices and teaching, professional authorship and participation in organizations while adhering to professional and ethical standards.
Lynch has demonstrated the values by serving as a senior clinical examiner in the evaluation of orthopedic surgeons for board certification. He shares knowledge with medical students as clinical associate professor of orthopedic surgery at Ohio University and is an active speaker to the Ohio Osteopathic Association and at local hospital and community events. He also serves on the infection-control and physician-advisory committees at Memorial Hospital.
At Memorial Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Marysville, Lynch utilizes additional training in sports medicine and arthroscopy to provide minimally invasive surgery to patients of all ages. He also works closely with Memorial Sports Medicine to evaluate and treat area high school athletes. Lynch serves as its medical director.

Lynch works at Memorial Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Marysville and is a graduate of the Ohio University College of osteopathic medicine.
Memorial Health Foundation to hold golf classic
The Memorial Health Foundation recently opened registration for the 30th annual Memorial Health Golf Classic, which will be held at 8 a.m. May 17 at Darby Creek Golf Course, 19300 Orchard Road.
The event will begin with sign-in and breakfast at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start for the tournament at 9 a.m. Event proceeds will go to Memorial 2020, a major renovation and expansion project on Memorial Health’s main campus.
Registration is limited to the first 38 paid teams on a first-come, first-served basis. Individuals, companies and teams are encouraged to register by visiting memorialohio.com/give/golf-classic or calling 937-578-4272.
Ziegler promoted to vice president of community engagement
Melanie Ziegler of Ostrander recently was promoted to vice president of community engagement at Memorial Health.
As part of the senior administration, Ziegler will oversee marketing, communications, public relations, community outreach and philanthropy for the health-care system.
Ziegler joined Memorial Health in 2001 as a communications coordinator and was promoted to director and then assistant vice president in 2016 before being named vice president.
