Organizers of the first Old Hilliard Bunny Hop said they considered the event a success and plan to continue it.

The event was held April 8 at Hilliard's Station Park, which, in its second full year of existence, continues to be a catalyst for new activities in Old Hilliard.

At the Bunny Hop, local businesses handed out treats to children, who interacted with balloon artists, face-painters and a costumed Easter bunny and chicken.

"It's a great event and even busier than I thought it would be," said Erin Owsley, who lives on Norwich Street and attended the Bunny Hop with her husband, Kevin, and their two children, Charlie, 6 and Sam, 5.

Main Street Inc., a Destination Hilliard subcommittee focused on Old Hilliard, organized the Bunny Hop, said Christy Clark, executive director of Destination Hilliard.

"We're thrilled with the turnout. Lots of businesses participated, too. ... We plan to do it next year," Clark said.
