A woman told Columbus police said she was the recipient of a racial epithet by a man who also threw an object at her car, causing $600 damage.

The crime occurred at 10:08 p.m. April 8 at South Third and East Sycamore streets.

According to Columbus Division of Police incident reports, the victim stated the man pulled a bike in front of her vehicle while she was parked.

The man then called her a racial slur and reached in his jacket. The victim then started honking her horn and the man threw an unknown object at her car.

The man then fled and the woman told police she tried follow him but was unsuccessful.

* A man reported he found a bullet hole in his vehicle at 11 a.m. April 12 at the corner of City Park and East Jenkins avenues.

The man told police he heard six gunshots at 4:45 a.m. the same morning. The amount of damage to the vehicle was not known.

* Between midnight and 5:30 a.m. April 10, more than $600 worth of merchandise was stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of Siebert Street.

The victim told police she walked by the vehicle that morning and saw that its interior was in disarray. Items stolen included: $140 women's sunglasses, $200 men's sunglasses, $20 in assorted change, a $60 satellite radio, $200 radio device, $25 USB charger and personal checks, value undetermined.
