A vehicle parked in front of the Plain Township Aquatic Center, 7650 Swickard Woods Blvd., at 1:17 a.m. April 9 led New Albany police to issue drug-related citations to a minor.

An officer immediately noticed a strong marijuana odor upon approaching the vehicle, according to the report.

The 17-year-old driver told police he had just left a party.

A vehicle search produced drug paraphernalia and 5.77 grams of marijuana. The boy was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, drug abuse and a curfew violation.

In other recent incident reports from the New Albany Police Department:

* A 23-year-old Newark man was cited for OVI at 4:28 a.m. April 9 at state Route 161 east of Beech Road after an officer pulled him over for driving with a loud exhaust system and tinted windows.

A vehicle search produced 18.16 grams of marijuana, a smaller amount of marijuana, three pipes and a silver metal grinder.

The passenger, an 18-year-old Columbus woman, was issued citations for drug paraphernalia and marijuana possession.

* A 38-year-old Pataskala man was cited for OVI at 3:17 a.m. April 9 at state Route 161 and the Beech Road exit ramp after he was pulled over for erratic driving.

* A resident in the first block of Wiveliscombe at 10:51 a.m. April 8 told police someone used her personal information to open two credit-card accounts to obtain a total credit amount of $33,000. No purchases were made, however.

Two other accounts were denied.

* A 28-year-old Thornville man was cited for OVI at 8:11 a.m. April 5 at state Route 161 and Beech Road after he was pulled over for speeding.
