The Dublin Police Department held its annual Police Memorial Service on May 12 at the Dublin Justice Center, 6565 Commerce Parkway.

The event recognized officers from local law enforcement agencies who were killed in the line of duty.

Dublin Police Chief Heinz von Eckartsberg opened his remarks with a moment of silence for Kirkersville Police Chief Steven DiSario, who was killed in an ambush shooting while on duty May 12.

Hilliard Police Chief Robert Fisher served as the guest speaker for this year's event.

He spoke about the pain of losing one of his officers, Sean Johnson, in an on-duty motorcycle training accident last year.

Dublin's event was part of National Police Week, which is May 15 through 21.
