To the Editor:

My family and I have always been fans of Tremont Elementary School. Not just because they're our neighbors or because of the smiling faces of the students and staff there, but because of the community they've built over the years and their willingness to allow us to be a part of it in small but significant ways.

Last week, we found out the feeling is mutual when classes of Tremont students came to visit our Tremont Center store with "thank you" cards, letters and posters. Some serenaded us with songs or entertained us with acts from their plays.

It was a moving experience for me, my family and our employees, and one we'll never forget.

Thank you to the Tremont School Association, Principal Jim Buffer and the teachers, staff and student who planned this fun and humbling surprise. It's moments like these that remind us why we made Upper Arlington our home more than two decades ago and why we never want to leave.
